As 2015 draws to a close we thought it would be fun to look at some of the eagerly anticipated vehicle releases for 2016. If you want to splash the cash next year we recommend you drive these stylish propositions...

1.)    Audi A5

Hot on the heels of the all-new A4, the latest A5 from Audi will reportedly be a little bit lower, a tiny bit wider, a whole lot lighter, and benefitting from greater fuel economy than the model it replaces.

Choose it for: Desirable coupe styling or the practicality of a five-door Sportback.

Available from:  September 2016

2.)    BMW M2

Cheaper than an M4 and bigger than the 1M coupe, the 2 Series ‘M’ will be a flexed-out muscle machine with a reported 370bhp under the bonnet.

Choose it for: 0-60mph in less than 4.5 seconds, this really is a pocket rocket.

Available from: April 2016

3.)    Alfa Romeo Giulia

Ready to compete with the likes of Audi’s A4, BMW’s 3 series and Mercedes C-Class, the Giulia from Alfa Romeo is a real head-turner, especially if you opt for the 503bhp V6 Turbo version.

Choose it for: Sexy looks and rear wheel drive handling.

Available from: September 2016

4.) Ford Edge

Bigger than a Kuga and based on the existing Mondeo, the Edge will be a cheaper alternative to other rivals in the crossover SUV class, such as the X3 from BMW or the Q5 from Audi.

Choose it for: Comfortable seating for five with a huge boot.

Available from:  Spring 2016

5.) Jaguar F-Pace

The F-Pace will be Jaguar’s first venture into the SUV market so it’ll be interesting to see what sales figures are like when it goes on release.  If you want thrills, pick the V6 model which shares the same engine as the F-Type.

Choose it for: Quirkiness. It’s a Jag utility vehicle!

Available from: April 2016

6.) Peugeot 308 R Hybrid

Peugeot took the 1980’s hot hatch market by storm when they released the 205GTi. Skip forward to 2016 and they are due to release a 493bhp hybrid 308, combining the standard 267bhp 1.6-litre turbo engine, with two 114bhp electric motors, to power the car from 0-62 in less than four seconds. Wow!

Choose it for: Road, track or hot lap driving modes, with all-wheel drive handling.

Available from: End of 2016

7.) Range Rover Evoque Convertible

If you like the Evoque you’ll love the look of this top-off version. Still capable of off-road driving, the soft-top version looks stunning cruising along the tarmac.

Choose it for: The ultimate posemobile... say no more.

Available from: Spring 2016

8.) Skoda SUV

After the popularity of the Yeti, Skoda has decided to produce a seven-seat SUV with budget buyers in mind. It looks good and is reported to have serious off-road capability.

Choose it for: Price. Early estimates suggest a £23,000 entry-level model.

Available from: Summer 2016

9.) Honda NSX

Honda produced the original NSX coupe from 1990 – 2005 during which time over 18,000 cars were built.  In 2016 the second-generation of this supercar is due to launch, it’s a hybrid, and Honda says it will accelerate as fast as a Ferrari 458, and benefit from sublime handling. We can’t wait!

Choose it for: Race car performance and unbelievable handling with amazing fuel economy.

Available from:  End of 2016

10.) Aston Martin DB11

Aston’s eagerly-anticipated replacement for theDB9 has been worth the wait. This is a thing of beauty, and rumour has it the DB11 will have an updated version of the 6.0-litre V12 power plant, with the possibility of a turbo being added for better power delivery and improved fuel economy.

Choose it for: 007 thrills with exceptional build quality.

Available from: Late 2016
